We show a dose-response relationship between topical chlorhexidine (i.e., the concentration of the product) or skin antisepsis prior to clean surgery and the risk of surgical site infection, explored using Bayesian network meta-analysis. The Chlorhexidine versus povidone–iodine skin antisepsis before upper limb surgery (CIPHUR) international multicentre prospective cohort study won the "British Society for Surgery of the Hand Best Paper" in 2021.
